Discovering Doppelgangers In Places You’d Least Expect
Most people have had an experience where they met a stranger who looked a bit like them. Today, however, we shall look at a few individuals who found their real-life doppelgangers.
In many of these cases, the look-alike in question is not some long-lost twin or another person that just happens to look like them. Instead, these doppelgangers were found in the most unlikely of places!
Jeremy Got Busted
Jeremy had a tough week at the office and decided to take the weekend off to relax. He and his friends had always wanted to visit a nearby museum displaying ancient art, so they planned a visit.
Jeremy was looking at some paintings when one of his friends rushed in from the adjacent gallery. He was dragged into a room with a couple of busts on display. The similarity was striking!
See Yourself In Art
For most doppelgangers found in artwork, some of the individuals concerned may have assumed that someone secretly took their picture and made a painting of it. However, most of the art pieces in museums are centuries old, so that possibility is out of the question.
This man found a painting that looks so much like him it was like looking in a mirror. The pointed nose, the haircut, the facial hair, and even the expression are all the same.
Will Smith in a Nativity Scene
No one knows for sure what Jesus, Joseph, Mary, and the three wise men from the nativity scene of Jesus’s birth really looked like. There were no cameras to capture the moment at the time.
So, we reckon that must have inspired the sculptor of this figurine to make the image using the face of a famous actor—Will Smith. It’s undeniable that they share some similarities.
Shrek Came to Life
Remember the green ogre, the leading character in the Shrek movie? If you’ve seen Shrek 2, you’ll remember he was transformed into a (surprisingly handsome) human form.
Whoever took this picture hit the nail on the head since this young man looks a lot like the human Shrek from the movie. The jawline, the haircut, and the pointy ears all look the same. It does make you wonder how he would look painted green, though…
Gru, the Substitute Teacher
Imagine going to an open house at your child’s school and getting introduced to the man pictured as one of the teachers. If you’re a fan of animated movies or watch with your kids, then the name Gru might suddenly pop into your mind.
Gru is the lead character in the hilarious Steve Carrell movie Despicable Me. And if you tweak the teacher’s look and remove his eyebrows, we have a perfect doppelganger on our hands.
A Threefold Doppelganger
People are naturally drawn to individuals who have a similar name as themselves. Also, that seems to be the case with look-alike artworks.
In this image, a man found an old painting that looked like him and took a picture. Next, another man stumbles upon the picture and realizes the pair looks just like him. This final picture is how he decided to preserve the triplet doppelganger.
But Does He Also Have Heartburn?
People hardly ever go for medical checkups unless something is off. In fact, some people even take better care of their car than they do their own health. But that was not the case for the man in this picture.
He went for a routine check and got the shock of his life. No, not from some diagnosis, but from a poster on the doctor’s wall. The animated illustration in the picture looks exactly like him. Check out the haircut, the skin tone, and even the shirt!
The Rebirth of Eddie Rabbitt
Lovers of country music will definitely recognize Eddie Rabbitt; he was a famous singer and songwriter who wrote one of Elvis Presley’s hit singles.
The young man in this picture is showing off his striking semblance with the youthful picture of Rabbitt from a 1980 album cover. Though the singer passed on in 1998, the young man in the picture would easily pass as his son.
Brought Together By the Need for A Shower Brush
This man may have lost the opportunity to see his doppelganger without his need for a shower brush. He went to the store to pick up some essentials and was almost blown away by the picture on the package.
At first glance, it looked so much like him that he had to do a double-take. To keep the memory, he took a picture while trying to recreate the expression.
Yet Another Artistic Lookalike
Imagine yourself casually walking into an art gallery and, before long, having people stare at you. It would be a strange experience since the custom at art exhibitions is for people to pay more attention to the pieces on display than to the other visitors.
Someone must have pointed out to this woman that she looked a lot like one of the paintings on display. And that must have come as a surprise, as the painting is probably quite old and was most likely created by a complete stranger.
Twins Separated at Birth?
Kids can be very inquisitive and ask loads of questions. We sure hope this boy’s parents, or whoever he went to the store with, saw that sign first. It would have been a fun surprise to make the boy’s day by having his doppelganger pointed out to him.
We can imagine how excited he must have been, seeing his lookalike hanging at a section of the store. Now all he needs is a sweater vest.
A Prince of the British Crown Goes Undercover
Members of the British ruling house are rarely seen in public. Instead, the royal family occasionally releases official portraits to the public.
In the picture, you’ll find a “Next” magazine issue that features an official portrait of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. We can imagine you also noticed what the boy in the cart came to realize: He shares a stunning resemblance to the Prince of Wales.
An Eerie Coincidence
Like every other person who found their doppelganger at an art gallery, this woman was visiting a museum when she found her twin. Looking at the art piece, it would be difficult to believe she didn’t pose for the artist.
The painting depicts a female astronaut. Interestingly, the woman admits to having childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut. Perhaps this was a sign that she could still pursue her dream!
A Lookalike Snack
This fella was picking up items from the shelf of a grocery store when he found something peculiar about a bag of potato chips on display. He picked up the product and was left totally amazed.
If he went a step further and shaved his goatee, he would look exactly like the dude depicted on the chips package.
This Doppelganger is a Black Sheep
A man and his friend were waiting for the bus and decided to stand in the bus stop enclosure. During the wait, his companion took a casual look at the ad on the signage behind them and got a huge surprise.
Their hairstyle, skin tone, and facial hair are so similar that they had to document it with a picture. Unsurprisingly, this guy doesn’t appear too happy about the resemblance.
Linguini Comes to Town
Have you seen Pixar’s eighth animated film, Ratatouille? If you haven’t, you may want to do so now for two reasons. First, the movie is an interesting tale of a rat who dreams of becoming a chef.
The second reason is depicted in the photo above. The character, Alfredo Linguini, looks so much like the young man holding the film case that it’s downright uncanny. They have similar freckles, pointed noses, and curly red hair.
Meet the Man With a Flying House
Up is another animated movie by Pixar and Disney that tells the story of a widower, Carl Fredericksen, who goes on an adventure in a flying house.
The voice for that character was done by Ed Asner, who was 79 years old at the time. However, the man in this picture looks downright identical to the Up character.
Another 'Up' Lookalike
Russell is another notable character in the Up movie. Interestingly, we found a boy that looks just like Carl’s young friend.
Dressed in a similar boy scout outfit, a yellow hat, a similar haircut, and a bandanna to match, these two are a perfect match.
An Adorable Duo
The toys and books we give our kids can be extremely influential in their lives. It wouldn’t be surprising if many young girls have told their parents they want to become an explorer like Dora.
We hope this girl’s parents bought her the book in the picture. Not many kids get to read a book before bed that features them as the main character!
